SURF LESSONS FOR THE BLIND
Kanoa
Aquatics is a surf camp specializing in Surfing and Bodyboarding
lessons, water safety, ocean knowledge as well as beach games.
We are dedicated to our profession and feel it is our privilege
to give back to the community part of the knowledge that we
have obtained through out our years of ocean experience.
From July
17-20, 2000 from 2:30pm-4:30pm at 45th Street in Manhattan
Beach, California
Kanoa Aquatics provided free surf lessons for the blind. We
have been working on this project with the help of Anita Wright
from the Youth Project Center located at 714 Vermont Ave.
Los Angeles, California. She has been instrumental in organizing
the project.
The owner
of Kanoa Aquatics, Kip Jerger, is a 24 year veteran Ocean
Lifeguard who believes that the more people that have ocean
awareness and realize its potential, not only as a playground
for fun and enjoyment but a vital resource to our ecology
will help us preserve our precious mother ocean for generations
to come.
