Kip and the Kanoa experience

The blind are coming to Manhattan Beach (El Porto), on August 9th and
August 24th to attend surf camp. The non-profit organization, Kanoa Aquatics will be donating their time teaching the blind from the Los Angeles County Braille Institute, along with 60 inner city children. The event introduces surfing to many kids who would otherwise never have had the opportunity. At the camp, the children learn ocean knowledge, water safety, self-rescue techniques and more importantly for those kids coming from the Braille Institute, independence and self-confidence. Kids are treated to lunch and surf apparel courtesy of Body Glove. The non-profit organization has been teaching blind children for the past six summers. The media, donations and volunteers are always welcomed. For more information call founder and owner, Kip Jerger at (310) 308-7264.
